Beef Tacos Recipe

A taco is a traditional Mexican dish consisting of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. A taco can be made with a variety of fillings, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, and cheese, allowing great versatility and variety.

Ingredients: 

  • Lean ground beef : 1 pound

  • Taco shell : 8 pieces

  • Vegetable oil : 2 teaspoons

  • Onion (chopped) : ½ cup

  • Onion powder : ¼ teaspoon

  • Chili powder : 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic powder : ¼ teaspoon

  • Red pepper flakes : ¼ teaspoon

  • Oregano (dried) : ¼ teaspoon

  • Paprika (smoked) : ½ teaspoon

  • Ground cumin : 1 teaspoon

  • Pepper : ½ teaspoon

  • Petite diced tomatoes (drained) : 1 can (14 ounce)

  • Salt : 1 teaspoon

  • Cheese (shredded)

  • Tomato (chopped)

  • Lettuce

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium high heat. 

  2. Add the ground beef and break up with a spatula.

  3. Add the onion to the pan.

  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beef is done and onion is soft, 5-6 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.

  5. Add the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, smoked paprika, cumin, salt and pepper to the pan. 

  6. Stir to coat the meat in the seasonings.

  7. Add the tomatoes to the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  8. Spoon the beef into the taco shells.

  9. Add toppings such as lettuce, chopped tomato and cheese. 

  10. Serve immediately.
